Mr. James “Harry” Whitlock, 90, of Cartersville, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Cartersville Medical Center.

He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on February 15, 1928, the son of the late James Dewey Whitlock and Gerna Grant Whitlock.

Mr. Whitlock was employed by Pan America before retiring. He had a positive outlook on life and made a point to laugh every day. Harry was the most loving husband, father and grandfather a family could ever ask for. He was a positive influence in many lives, both young and old. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Petty and a brother, Kenneth Whitlock.

Survivors include his son, Richard Whitlock and wife, Robbie; and his grandchildren, Kyle and Kristin Whitlock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Larry Sprouse and Richard Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
