Condolences

Condolence From: Vicki Graves Davis
Condolence: Dear Karen and family, I'm so sorry about your loss of your daddy. My Daddy has been gone 9+ years now and I miss him very much. I had the pleasure of speaking to your daddy when he came to our July 4th musical at our church several years ago. I was so happy he went up on stage with others who served in the military and was honored. Sherrill asked me, via Facebook, for a picture I took of him at the event. Daddy told lots of tales about life on the Pumpkinvine Creek with the Cheatham boys. Those were simpler times. Cathy reminded me that my grandfather, Blue, helped build a ramp at your grandparents' home for your grandfather's wheelchair. The Cheatham and Graves families go way back. My parents were very close to Oliver and Earline throughout their lives and thought so much of your daddy as well. May you be comforted by fond memories and the knowledge you will see him again. Our family donated to Gideons International in memory of your father. God bless you and your family. Sincerely, Vicki Graves Davis

Condolence: My condolences to the Cheatham families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear William. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you. For more comforting thoughts, please visit jw.org
