Obituary for Faye Starnes

Faye  Starnes
Mrs. Faye M. Starnes, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Townsend Park Health & Rehab. She was the daughter of the late Thomas McCamy and Pearl Garrison McCamy.

Mrs. Starnes was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Faye‘s dad was employed by the railroad and some of her fondest memories were living on railroad cars with her dad and three sisters. At the age of 18, she met and married the love of her life, Albert Starnes. Al was in the Air Force for many years before retiring and she and their children traveled to many places around the world. She enjoyed preparing meals and having her family and friends over to enjoy them. Faye also enjoyed sewing. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Starnes; her son Thomas Ray Starnes; her sisters, Dorothy Shoemaker, Lynn Flora and Tommie Jefferies.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Lamarr (Florence) Starnes, Don (Lillian)”Pete” Starnes, Becky (Tim) Shepherd and Connie Starnes; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Starnes.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Joe Nix officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, James Starnes, Brad Cothran, Derik Starnes, Marcus Riley, Christopher Riley and Dalton Rogers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Townsend Park for the love and care that was shown to their mother.
