Obituary for Frances Young
On January 6, 2018, Mrs. Frances West Young left this walk of life to be reunited with the love of her life, Felton Young, and The Lord. She was born in Cartersville, Georgia, December 2nd, 1932, to the former Greene and Rosa Ella West.
On March 30, 1949 she was united in wedlock to Felton Robert Young, a union that lasted till he departed this life in 1995. She was of the Holiness faith and held close to her heart a faith for God. Along with her husband Felton, and many times the grandchildren, they traveled to the mountains and Florida, which she greatly loved. For 16 years she worked at the Cartersville Undergarment. After that, she left the Undergarment to join her husband in the building and operation of Young’s Texaco Service Station in Kingston Georgia. Together they worked hard to provide a life for their family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Felton Robert Young; an infant son, Fulton Robert Young; two sisters, Eva Price and Pauline Hyde; three brothers, George, Robert and Raymond West.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mamie West; her children and spouses, Tony (Nell) Young, Brenda Young Lee, Joan (Gary) Reed, and Jo Ann (C.E.) Popham; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A remembrance of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Jody Silvers, and Reverend Jessie Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Kingston cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be, her grandsons; Ken Silvers, Robert Silvers, Torrey Silvers, Derek Young, John Ellis and Tony Young. Honorary pallbearers will include, Ezekiel Reed, Travis Silvers, Gavin Young, Madix Young and Jacob Silvers.
