Obituary for William Gillispie

William  Gillispie
William Tolbert Gillispie, 90, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Lavonia, Georgia on September 11, 1927 to the late Grady Gillispie and Nan Durham Gillispie.
Mr. Gillispie was a World War II Navy and Air Force veteran, a V.F.W. 2681 member and Nelms Masonic Lodge. He retired from Lockheed Martin with 34 years of service. He also enjoyed traveling, camping and going to the Senior Center. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Walter Gillispie; and a sister, Belva Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Gibson Gillispie; his children, Gwen Gillispie, Billie Taylor and husband, Danny, Jackse Coleman, Keith Gillispie, and Gayle Johnson; his step-children, Kathy Bush, Yolanda Forrister and husband, Tony, Charles Ashburn and wife, Laura; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 nieces and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Scott Crowder officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery with full military and Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15th.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Elliott, Kiel Elliott, Johnny Collum, Ian Johnson, Larry Palmer and Earl Pitts.
