Obituary for Randall "Randy" Howard Meade

Randall "Randy" Howard Meade
Retired Chief Petty Officer, Randall “Randy” Howard Meade, died on Friday, September 15, 2017 at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1951 in Flint, Michigan to the late Richard Caroll Meade and Joanne Chesnut Rozek.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Meade in 1966.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Madeline Dapsis Meade; his daughter, Amber Marie Meade of Ashville, North Carolina; his son, Robert Andrew Meade of Rhode Island; his brothers, Blaine Rozek of Texas, Bruce Rozek of Texas and Kurt Rozek of Oregon.

Randy was a beautiful soul. A loving husband and encouraging father, Randy will remain with us in our hearts for all of time. Waving and smiling to all who passed and making friends wherever he went, Randy was a gift to us all. He was proud to be a professing member of the Frankenmuth United Methodist Church in Michigan. He loved to target practice at Creekside Range and pull sporting clays with his newest toy. In his life he saw the world serving his country for 25 years with the United States Navy, retiring in 1996.

In the words of one of his brothers, “The void will get filled eventually, but not quite as full as before.” While there are never enough words to compile a person’s life here we can repeat the first 5 words again. Randy was a beautiful soul.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Georgia National Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, but for those who choose, donations may be made to Wellstar Community Hospice at www.wellstar.org/hospice.
