Obituary for Glenn Penny Abernathy

Glenn (Penny) Abernathy, age 59, died on Wednesday in Lawrenceville. She was the daughter of the late Mary Kate Abernathy.

On November 13, 1957 God sent us a very special baby girl to show us the real meaning of love. On August 23, 2017 he chose to call her home to be with Him and her heavenly family. She had many obstacles to overcome here on earth but she always had a smile and a hug for everyone.

Penny enjoyed watching TV, working with numbers, eating Big Mac’s, coloring beautiful pictures and playing with and helping feed the farm animals. She loved her uncle Bill very much and they took care of each other until his death. After his death her health began to decline. Her spirit will forever be in our hearts and we will miss her dearly but know she is no longer in pain. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her grandparents; her special Uncle Arthur H. (Bill) Abernathy along with many other relatives.

Survivors include her Uncle Jess Abernathy and several cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Charles Moore officiating.
