Obituary for Margie Elizabeth Jones

Margie Elizabeth  Jones
Miss Margie Elizabeth Jones, 91, of Cartersville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at her residence following a short illness. She was born on August 18, 1925 in Bartow County and was the daughter of the late Edward Frederick Jones and Virgie Cowart Jones.

Margie was the eldest of four siblings and never married. She was visually handicapped at an early age; however was an extremely talented penman, cook, seamstress, secretary, historian and caregiver. Those assets will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the community she served for many years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, James Frederick Jones and her sister, Vera Jones Worley (Jack).

Survivors include her sister, Annie Jones Crowe (Earl) of Cartersville and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Keith Willard officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.

The family would like to extend a “Special Thanks” to Floyd Home Health Care and Amedisys Hospice along with her wonderful caregivers, Trena Bell, Teresa Bell and Ruth Johnson that attended Margie during her illness.
