Obituary for Larry Gunter

Mr. Larry Thomas Gunter, 73, of Cartersville, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Winterset, Iowa on December 28, 1943 and was the son of the late Thomas Colan Gunter and Sarah Elizabeth Hircock Gunter.

Mr. Gunter retired from Dr. Pepper with 36 years of service as a Divisional Sales Manager. He was a member of the Cartersville Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and keeping the handy cap scores for the seniors. When he could no longer play golf, he enjoyed playing gin with his friends. Mr. Gunter was crazy about his grandchildren and always enjoyed the time he got to spend with them.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Gunter of Cartersville; his sons, Jeff Gunter (Linda) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Greg Gunter (Mary Jane) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Thomas Gunter of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mitchel Gunter of Aragon and Blake Gunter of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his sister, Joann Sirdoreus of Kansas City, Missouri; and his brothers, Duane Gunter of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Gene Gunter of Van Wert, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Jim Pinkard officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
