Condolence: Grandpa,
Oh how I miss you! You are on my mind all the time! I hope, well I know you are having a blast in heaven and an amazing reunion with so many. I always loved sitting and talking to you for as long as we could. Your stories were the best and your French fries. HAHA! You always knew how to put a smile on every ones face! Even when you were so sick, right up until you gained your wings, I was crying and laughing at the same time because of your wonderful sense of humor and how much I would miss it. I am so proud to call you my grandpa! Thank you for all your love, advice, smiles, and so so so much more!
Love, Angel*

Condolence: Mr.Kelly you will truly be missed. Since day one when you stepped into Outpatient at Halifax Regional you always brightened up my day. I grew to really love you like family. I hate that the last time I saw you was truly the last time all together. At least I did get a smile, and a joke before you said your goodbyes. I can only remember the great times shared with you. When I said I was going to miss you when you left I ment it. God just gained a beautiful angel in heaven. Now you get to see your best friend you always talked about. Love you and miss you Mr. Kelly. Thank you for always being you.
To the family, keep your heads held high because he would want that.My prayers are with you all.

R.I.P Mr. I Rodney Kelly πŸ‘ΌπŸ˜š

Condolence: It seems difficult to believe that you are no longer sitting in your house in Roanoke Rapids...you meant so much to our family. Thank you for your love and friendship, especially for loving Aunt Llewella and her girls. You were a rock during very difficult times...and you provided so much joy to my aunt in the later years of her life. We will miss you beyond words. Enjoy heaven...you deserve it!

Condolence: We are so very sad that we lost our "Papa" Rod Kelly. He married my Mom, Llewella Decking Kelly in 1997 and shared many years of happiness, sadness and life! They shared the loss of two Daughters, Ruthie and Jan .. The birth of grandchildren, great grandchildren, marriages and loss. He was so gentle and kind to my Mom when she was sick with cancer .. They were buddies and shared so many memories as they knew each other for many years before their marriage.

Rod was bigger than life to me when I was a child .. My Dad, Thomas Decking, many times started his truck driving stories .. "When Kelly and I were in Texas ... Georgia ... Or wherever ... We did this ... Fill in the blanks, their adventures were always filled with fun, singing, laughter and amazing characters. There are rocks in Arizona to this day, that are stacked precariously, in canyons that my Dad and Rod Kelly piled up by day so they could fight the Indians by night ... :) His exploits were legendary!

The best thing about Rod Kelly to me was the love and care for my niece Ella Ruth ... she loves her Papa .. And he loved her too! He was her touchstone and taught her many things as they were driving back and forth from school or to swim practice or just a ride to get ice cream! She learned what it was like to be a truck driver, what it was like to be a kid in growing up in his time, he shared stories of her Papa Tom with her as she never got to know him. When she recently visited me she called Papa at least 3 or 4 times a day to check in with him to make sure he was doing ok. I know his children and grandchildren from Georgia missed him these last years while he lived in North Carolina but he sure filled a void in a little girls life and for that I am forever thankful!

Rod .. Ella,Inge, Jack and I will miss you!! I'm just glad you aren't suffering anymore! Glad we got to spend some time with you in August!

Thanks for the memories! We love you Papa!

Love to the "boys" as Papa always called his sons and their families .. We are very sorry for "our" loss!

Love to all. Genia and Jack Engelstad

Condolence: Dad,

Thank you for all the joy, love and entertainment you have definitely brought into our memories, even though for me its been a short time frame, I appreciate the long talks with you and I appreciate the outlook on life you possessed. You will not be forgotten. Not from our hearts, minds and memories. I have your shot glass here with the ones for the boys. You'll be there for every one! Love Deb
