Obituary for Rodney Brian Kelly

Rodney Brian  Kelly
Mr. Rodney Brian Kelly, 83, of Cartersville, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Blakely, Georgia on July 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Roy Kelly and Mildred Blackshear Kelly.

Mr. Kelly was a member of Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Gaines, Georgia. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Sarah Young Kelly; his second wife, Llewella Pierce Kelly; his daughter, Jan Kelly; his step-daughter, Ruthie Bolling; his brothers, Hiram Kelly, Dane Kelly, King Kelly, Bill Kelly, Earl Mac Kelly; and a sister, Cheryl Ann Kelly.

Survivors include his children, Jeff Kelly (Terry Jo), Tim Kelly (Debbie) and Danny Kelly (Kathy) all of Cartersville; his step-children, Genia Engelstad and Inge Smith; his sister, Marcia Plowden of Fort Gaines; his grandchildren, Josh, Zach, Hallie, Jeremy and Jason Kelly, Angel Jessen, Sarah Kelly and Ella Smith; and his great-grandchildren, Lane McDonald, Cash Kelly, Camilla Ferguson, Aniston Kelly, Addie Kelly, Josiah Kelly, Eli Kelly and Abel Kelly.

A memorial service will be held at Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Edison, Georgia on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Ross Plowden officiating. An inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 101, Edison, Ga. 39846.
