Obituary for Wilhelmina Johanna van Rynsoever

Wilhelmina “Willie” van Rynsoever

Wilhelmina “Willie” van Rynsoever, passed from this life to her life eternal on July 17, 2015 in Cartersville, Georgia. A native of The Netherlands, she was born April 17, 1920 in Rotterdam, Holland.

She lived through the occupation of her homeland in WWII, and served as a Red Cross volunteer and was enrolled in nursing school. Following the war, she married Theodorus (Ted) van Rynsoever and their first child was born in Holland before the family immigrated to Canada. After becoming Canadian citizens and the birth of two more children, the family immigrated to Florida and became USA citizens. She lived and worked in Orlando for 50 years before moving to Cartersville, Georgia in 2012.

She was a longtime member at Calvary Assembly of God in Winter Park, FL and attended the Church at Liberty Square in Cartersville. Willie loved Jesus Christ and professed Him as her Lord and Savior. She loved to volunteer, serving 25 years delivering Meals on Wheels and as a Sunday School teacher. She also was a church fellowship group leader, worked with the Shut-in Visitation ministry, as a Help Line telephone counselor, and many other ministries.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Ted, and is survived by her daughter Marian (Charlie) Pitchford of Cartersville, Georgia; son J. Ted van Rynsoever of Orlando; her daughter Sylvia (Jon) Bryan of Niceville, Fl; as well as four granddaughters; Amy (Brandon) Chandler, Jessica (Branden) Szwec, Amanda Bryan and Stephanie Bryan, all in the USA, as well as by nieces, nephews, three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law in Holland.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 20 at 2:00 pm at The Church at Liberty Square, Cartersville with a time of family visitation an hour prior to the service. A private scattering of ashes memorial will be held with the family at a later date in Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be designated to the “Nursing Home Ministry” of The Church at Liberty Square.
