Obituary for Melissa Dawn Overby

Melissa Dawn Overby, 42, of Cartersville, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. She was born in Floyd County on January 2, 1973 and was the daughter of Ronnie Overby and the late Delores Tate Overby.
Melissa was employed by Lowes as a cashier. Preceding her in death is her mother, Delores Walker; her grandfather, Wick Overby; and her grandmother, EdnaTate Hendrick.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Ronnie and Mea Overby of Eden, North Carolina; her sister, Paula and Mike McAdams of Gibsonville, North Carolina; her nieces, Taylor Pruitt and Mikaela McAdams of Gibsonville, North Carolina; her grandmother, Pauline S. Overby of Cartersville; her aunts and uncles; Booker and Jean Overby, Anita and Roy Newberry, Pam and Terry Elrod and Phyllis and Danny McElrath; along with numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Patrick Miller and Josh Newberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at Fairs Funeral Home in Eden, North Carolina on Monday, from 12 – 2 p.m. followed by a graveside service in the Danview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Eden Shelter in Eden, North Carolina, the Eden Rescue Squad or Immanual Broadcasting Network in Cartersville.
