Obituary for Royce Lloyd Ivester

Royce Lloyd  Ivester
Mr. Royce L. Ivester, 70, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his residence. Born February 14, 1943 in Fulton County, he was the son of the late James Beauregard Ivester and the late Hilda Blanche Birts Ivester.
Mr. Ivester was the owner/operator of the Cartersville Muffler Shop for 36 years, located on Joe Frank Harris Parkway. He was a people person and enjoyed gardening, NASCAR Racing, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, fishing and the company and fellowship of his many friends. He was a veteran having served our country in the United States Army. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Ivester of Cartersville; his daughter, Kellie Turner and husband, Wade of Cartersville; his son, Jason Ivester and wife, Amberly of Cartersville; his sister, Judy Patton of Stockbridge; his grandchildren, Ethan Turner, Josie Turner, Tucker Ivester and Peri Elizabeth Ivester all of Cartersville; and his three wonderful dogs, Buddy, Goofy and Luckie. Mr. Ivester was a member and master mason of Emerson Lodge #738 Free and Accepted Masons.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013 in Sunset Memory Gardens with Carl Boyd Post 42 in charge of full Military honors. Reverend Wayne Richmond and Pastor Michael Abernathy will be officiating. The Emerson Lodge #738 Free and Accepted Masons will conduct the Masonic Rites. The family will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Ivester, Tucker Ivester, Wade Turner, Ethan Turner, Chad Groce, Dale Andrews, Todd Ellis, and Kenny McDaniel.
