Mr. Billy Joe Quick, age 69, of 830 Kerce Road, Kingston, GA passed away Tuesday morning,October 18, 2005, at his residence.Mr. Quick was born in Floyd County on September 21, 1936, son of the late Robert and Frances Ely Quick. He was employed for 30 years with Soutern Wholesale. Prior to his final retirement Mr. Quick was associated with Fred's Inc. in Rockmart for eight years. He was a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church. In addition to his parents Mr. Quick was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abbie Kaylene Harris.Mr. Quick is survived by his wife, Eulene Knowles Quick, to whom he married on May 29, 1959; two daughters and son-in-law, Denise Quick of Rome, and Donna and John Harris of Calhoun, GA; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sarah Quick of Rome, Ritchie Quick of Rome, and Barry and Alison Quick of NC; a foster son, Steven Forsyth and his wife, Michelle of Rome; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 PM in the Chapel of Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Tim East and the Rev. Elgin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home this (Wednesday) evening from 7 until 9 PM. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence of a son, Robert Quick, 38 Black's Bluff Road.Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to assembel at the funeral home Thursday by 1:30 PM and are as the follows; Active: Steven Forsyth, Earl Knowles, Jonathan Knowles, Dan Knowles, Ray McKinney and Matt Knowles; Honorary: Nephews.
